OBJECTIVE:
Use photography to communicate a concept using a style of music and album title as a subject. Work to create harmony between photography and typography to successfully convey the desired message. Gain experience combining typography with photography, layout design, and packing at different scales.
PHOTOGRAPHY PROCESS:
When first starting the photography process, the initial idea was to have the subject outside over a cityscape. The concept was that the subject was dressed and ready for the night. With the cityscape in the background, it would help to imply that she is ready for the night out on the town ahead of them.
After experimenting with different angles, lighting, and poses, I felt that the rugged and edgy aesthetic that I wanted to create wasn't quite there. Taking a different approach on the "night out on the town," the setting of the piece was switched from outside to a bathroom to make it seem like she was getting ready. From there, we experimented with different perspectives and angles, actions (putting on lip gloss or putting on blush) and different lighting to create a stronger piece.
